He is a magician and mesmerizes the whole crowd with his tricks. But he is surrounded by some men who look like they want to do something to him. After that, we meet Javed (again) as he is returning from work. He is Javed Ansari who works as an assistant director of films and for some TV shows as well. However, he does not like his job and wants to quit it so that he can dedicate all his time towards magic. He comes home and finds a Bengali girl named Riya sitting in his house. He is surprised to see her. The story continues to the next day. Police officer, Javed Khan (Abhishek Bachchan) comes to the residence of Javed Ansari and asks him if he is related to Javed Ansari, who has been missing for many days now. He tells the police officer that he is his brother-in-law and is married to his sister. The police officer does not believe it though and leaves, with a warning that this will be his last warning. After that, Riya's parents come home along with their friend, who is also Bengali like them . They tell her that they have decided that she should get married. Riya does not want to get married, but her family is determined to force her into it. One day, when Javed Ansari is at work, he sees Riya in the same building where he works and rushes to catch her. But she accidentally falls down in front of him and he cannot recognize her. He starts searching for her everywhere in the city, in vain . A few days later , Riya tells him that his sister had come to visit them and they had left on a trip with their friends. Javed Ansari decides to go see his sister and discovers that she is suffering from a lot of debt. He goes to her husband's office and asks him for the details of the trip on which they left on. The husband tells him that his wife had taken out a loan from a local bank to pay for some bills and the bank had sent one of its lady employees, Ami, with them as their guide. Javed Ansari feels suspicious about this woman, so he gets in touch with a magician friend of his who specializes in disguising people. The magician agrees to help him out.
