The film tells the story of runner and Olympian athlete Milkha Singh. It features an aging champion running his final race, as well as a father's dedication to his son and how he taught him discipline and respect. This is a film made by the people of India, for the people of India. And, it's about one of India’s all-time favorite athletes: Milkha Singh — who just happens to be an Indian hero. His story is told in two parts. The first part of the film tells of Milkha's starring role in the Olympics at Los Angeles, where he won a gold medal for India, beating the Russians to the finish line. The second part takes place post-Olympics when Milkha was literally on his last lap as a runner. He wanted to die on that track, but was consumed by inspiration that he could still be useful for his country by setting up an athletic center. His father would use all of his assets to ensure that Milkha had everything he needed, including money and time to train for next year’s Olympics. And, in return, Milkha would be a true national hero. The film was made on a budget of 40 million rupees by the director duo, Milan Luthria and Rahul Dholakia. It is the biggest film project in the history of box office in India. The filming took five months which was so difficult to shoot with many obstacles encountered by the team members. The cast of the movie are Amarnath Mukherjee , Milan Luthria , Arif Zakaria , Ashish Vidyarthi , Sanjay Mishra , Neelu Dubey and Riddhi Sen . Milkha Singh is a respected athlete. He has been training for the past 20 years from his hometown Amritsar, India. The day of the Olympics arrives and he wakes up early in the morning to warm up his body. He goes to his coach's house where he gets some warm milk before going out to run some more. The race starts and Milkha has a great start, but after some time he begins running slower. He puts in all his minimal effort into running but he is still behind the Russian team by many seconds. By looking at all of this, Milkha's father gets emotional and starts crying knowing that his son could not win the race due to lack of practice and proper training from past 20 years. His son is behind the Russian team, running at a very slow pace. The Russians are on their last lap while Milkha is on his last few steps of the race. He finally makes it to the end of the race and wins! Milkha Singh calls his father over to him and hugs him tightly. His father pats his head saying "You did well today, but next time you shouldn't let me down." Milkha Singh finishes the race in third place with a time of 45 seconds. He jumps off of the track and heads over to celebrate with his coach. cfa1e77820
